Super Eagles arrive Bissau for crucial AFCON clash
Super Eagles arrive in Bissau for AFCON qualifier
The Super Eagles of Nigeria have arrived in Bissau ahead of Tuesday’s 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Guinea-Bissau.
Nigeria departed Uyo on Sunday evening aboard a chartered ValueJet flight after holding a final training session earlier in the day.
The team arrived at the Osvaldo Vieira International Airport at about 8:40 p.m., following their 2-1 victory over Madagascar in their opening Group L fixture on Friday.
Guinea-Bissau also won their opening match, defeating Tanzania 2-0 to move ahead of Nigeria on goal difference.
The Super Eagles will face the Djurtus at the Estádio Nacional 24 de Setembro on Tuesday.
Nigeria have faced Guinea-Bissau four times, recording one defeat — a 1-0 loss in Abuja during the 2023 AFCON qualifiers.
With only the group winner guaranteed qualification, Tuesday’s encounter is crucial for both teams as they seek to strengthen their position in Group L.
