NOA Staff: Lead by Example, Embrace Govt. Programs
Zonal Director Urges Staff to Be Convincing Advocates

The Zonal Director, North Central, National Orientation Agency (NOA), Dr Priscilla Gondo-Aluor, says the agency’s staff should key into government programmes to serve as examples for Nigerians.
Gondo-Aluor gave the charge on Tuesday in Ilorin, addressing the agency’s staff upon assumption as the zonal director of the newly created North Central zonal directorate.

She said it was only through conviction that Nigerian citizens could be persuaded into keying into the programmes and policies of the government.
The zonal director, also the former director of Nassarawa State, said the members of staff were the personnel serving as a driving force for the agenda and mandate of the agency.
”Any nation that must move forward must have a value structure that is forward looking.
“Defining the value of a nation is critical in progress, because it is a structure that will do that definition.
”So, that structure is the NOA, which is not a building but is made up of personnel that makes up the agency.
”To be able to properly communicate the policies, the personnel must first of all believe in what they are doing.
”That is why the staff must take ownership of the government programmes because it is only from conviction that we can persuade the people to key into these programmes,” she said.
According to Gondo-Aluor, the staff should not see their jobs as just a means of income-earning alone but also see themselves as Nigerians selected and committed to the rebirth of the country.
”So, anybody that has an attitude of ‘I got a job and just want a source of income’ may not do well here. See yourself as a footman, a person there to convince others.
”A rebirth has to do with orientation and re-orientation of the people, and the instrument to be used is the staff of the agency,” she said.
According to her, the zonal directorate was created to provide for a more effective oversight and supervision of the state directorates.
She assured the staff of the Director-General, Mallam Issa Onilu’s commitment to ensuring better welfare and working conditions.
Gondo-Aluor, however, appealed to Nigerians to have faith in the President Bola Tinubu-led administration and support its programs and policies geared towards a stronger nation and better life for citizens.
The zonal director also embarked on an inspection of the offices in some local government areas of the state.
Also, the state Director of the agency, Alhaji Abdulganiyu Dare, welcomed the creation of the zonal directorate and selection of Kwara as the headquarters of the North Central Zone.
Dare said Gondo-Aluor deserved her position due to her extensive experience in leading the organisation in various capacities for over three decades.
He pledged the support of the members of staff to enable her to carry out her assignment successfully.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the states under the North Central zonal directorate include Kwara, Kogi, Niger, Nasarawa, Plateau, Benue, and FCT, while the headquarters was in Kwara. (NAN)
