The Kwara State Government has reiterated its commitment to partnering with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) to empower students in entrepreneurship.
The Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Dr Mary Arinde, pledged on Thursday during a meeting with principal officers from the Commission at her office in Ilorin.
Arinde stated that Malam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s administration was focused on empowering students and youth to secure a better future as leaders of tomorrow.
She appreciated CAC’s readiness to help students register with the Commission to access loans and grants for establishing their businesses before graduation.
In his remarks, the team head, Mr Tunde Adeoti, thanked the state government for accommodating the commission’s efforts to sensitise and enlighten students in higher institutions.
He emphasised that registering small-scale businesses with the CAC would strengthen students’ future careers in entrepreneurship.
Adeoti outlined the benefits of business registration, including access to soft loans from commercial banks, the Bank of Industry, and international connections aimed at reducing unemployment.
He urged all higher institutions to encourage students to take part in the programme and register their businesses for a better future. (NAN)
