Kwara Law Officers Embark on Indefinite Strike

Kwara Justice Ministry Lawyers Strike

Law officers in the Kwara State Ministry of Justice have embarked on an indefinite strike over unpaid allowances and the failure to harmonise their salaries with those of magistrates.

The action was announced by the Law Officers Association of Nigeria (LOAN), Kwara Chapter, in a notice signed by Acting Chairman Kehinde Ayorinde and issued in Ilorin on Monday.

The association directed members to withdraw their services from July 27, 2026, until the government addresses their demands.

LOAN accused the state government of failing to pay outstanding 2020 furniture allowance, robe allowances for 2024–2026, and implement approved salary harmonisation.

The strike follows the expiration of a seven-day ultimatum to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, with the association saying previous appeals yielded no results.
