The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) has extended its N66 discount promotion on Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), popularly called petrol, to October 31, 2026. The offer was originally scheduled to run for only one week. The company has also added Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), known as diesel, to the promotion at its retail outlets.
NNPC announced the extension in a promotional notice on its official X account, urging customers to visit participating stations to benefit from the discount. According to the notice, the promotion will now run at all NNPC Retail outlets nationwide until October 31, with terms and conditions applying.
The company had earlier unveiled the N66 discount on X as a nationwide promotion running from October 1 to October 7, as part of activities marking Nigeria’s 66th independence anniversary. Rather than closing as planned, the promo has been stretched well beyond its initial window. In the notice, NNPC told customers who missed the earlier period that they now have another chance to enjoy the savings.
NNPC is also encouraging motorists to download the NNPC Fuel App, either by scanning the QR code attached to the promotional notice or by visiting onelink.to/nnpcfuelapp. Participating stations will honour the discount subject to the stated terms and conditions.
The extension comes at a time when NNPC retail outlets sell fuel at different prices across the country, reflecting variations in distribution and transportation costs. Motorists should therefore expect the final price after the discount to differ from one state or station to another.
The addition of AGO widens the benefit beyond private car owners to commercial transporters, logistics operators and small businesses that depend on diesel for vehicles and generators. For households and firms grappling with high energy costs, even a modest discount per purchase can add up over the course of a month.
