Kwara Dominates FCT, Advances to U17 Cricket Semi-finals

Oluyemi's Seven-Wicket Haul Leads to Commanding Victory

 Fast bowler, Marvelous Oluyemi from Kwara, took seven wickets in the group A game against FCT to send his team to the semi finals of the NCF/PwC U17 Cricket championship zonal qualifiers.
Oluyemi, who was the  Player of the Match with his 4-1-10-7 helped his side set up a clash with Benue on Tuesday after earlier beating Kogi by 8 wickets.
In the game at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja, Kwara won the toss and elected to field.
Kwara went on an attacking spree with Adetunji Biokoto taking the wicket of opener Daniel Obinna in the very first ball of the innings.
Thereafter, Oluyemi was handed the ball and began the onslaught, sending back seven batters for a paltry 10 runs.
FCT team could only manage 34 runs all out in 12.1 overs.
In the defense, FCT was sloppy with the ball, giving out 17 extras as Kwara needed just 2.4 overs to score 38/1.
Kwara won by 8 wickets.
After the game, Oluyemi said he was very happy to have contributed to his team’s victory.
“This is the first time I am taking seven wickets in this competition. I am happy to have contributed my part to the team.
“I just bowled according to what my coach asked me to do. Hopefully, we will win the tournament,” Oluyemi said.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Benue, FCT, Niger, Kogi and Plateau are participating in the male category of the event scheduled to end on Tuesday. (NAN)
