Nigeria LNG Ltd. has officially announced that submissions are now open for the 2025 Nigeria Prize for Science and Literature.
This year, the Science Prize will focus on advancements in Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Digital Technologies that have the potential to drive significant development.
The Literature Prize, on the other hand, calls for entries in Prose Fiction, with authors of Nigerian descent worldwide invited to participate.
The focus on AI highlights its transformative role in reshaping global economies, with studies suggesting it could add trillions to global corporate profits annually.
Prof. Barth Nnaji, Chairman of the Science Prize Advisory Board, emphasized the vast potential of AI to drive sustainable development and improve sectors like agriculture, healthcare, and Nigeria’s digital economy.
The Science Prize offers a $100,000 award for innovative projects with a proven social impact, while the Literature Prize offers the same amount for outstanding prose fiction works published since 2022.
Sophia Horsfall, General Manager at NLNG, noted the importance of these awards in recognizing global advancements that can foster economic growth and social progress as the world enters the intelligent age.
