The management of Kwara State University (KWASU) in Ilorin on Monday congratulated Dr Lawal Olohungbebe on his appointment as Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development in Kwara.
The institution’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Jimoh Shaykh-Luqman, in a statement ,said the appointment was no surprise to the institution.
“This is because he performed his role well when he was the Director of KWASU’s Centre for Community Development,” he said.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Olohungbebe was, before this new appointment, the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq on Community Development.
”The SSA position was a position he executed excellently well, just as he had hitherto performed his role as Director of KWASU’s Centre for Community Development with passion and sincerity.
”It, therefore, was no surprise to us at KWASU that Gov. AbdulRazaq found Dr. Olohungbebe a worthy individual to assign greater tasks,” the Vice-Chancellor added.
He went on to applaud Gov. AbdulRazaq for the recognition accorded to Olohungbebe and, by extension, KWASU.
”On behalf of the University Council, management, staff and students of the Green University for Community Development and Entrepreneurship, we are indeed honoured,” Olohungbebe said.
He added that the institution remained committed to the Kwara project, and it individually and collectively aligned with the mandate of the governor to drive the state to unprecedented heights.
The Vice-Chancellor also congratulated the Olohungbebe on his new role.
” wWeexpect that the excellence with which you and KWASU are known will again be brought to bear in this new assignment,” Prof. Shaykh-Luqman said. (NAN)
