EXTENSION OF DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION OF LIST OF CANDIDATES BY POLITICAL PARTIES
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has approved an extension of the deadline for the submission of lists of candidates by political parties for the 2027 Presidential and National Assembly Elections.
The deadline, originally scheduled for Saturday, 11th July 2026, in the Revised Timetable and Schedule of Activities, has now been extended to 11:59pm on Tuesday, 14th July 2026.
This decision follows a request by the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) on behalf of political parties that were unable to complete the upload of names and personal particulars of their candidates within the stipulated timeframe.
The extension reflects the Commission’s commitment to inclusivity, while operating within the framework of the law.
Political parties are hereby advised to utilise this extension to ensure the timely and complete submission of all required details before the new deadline.
