House of Representatives Approves N54.92 Trillion 2025 Budget
N700 Billion Added to Address Health Challenges Following US Withdrawal From WHO

The House of Representatives on Thursday approved the 2025 Appropriation Bill of N54.92 trillion.
Presenting the report, Chairman of the House Committee on Appropriation, Rep Abubarka Bichi, said that N54.2 trillion naira was approved, but with an additional N700 billion naira to make the total budget N54.9 trillion
Bichi said that the budget would address economic challenges across sectors when it became operational.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the house approved the budget after a clause-by-clause consideration by the lawmakers at plenary.
Bichi said that the N700 billion increment was to cater for vaccines, following the recent exit of the United States of America from the World Health Organisation (WHO) and its withdrawal from funding health interventions in Nigeria.
Receiving the report, the Speaker, Tajudeen Abbas, expressed a strong belief that the budget, when implemented, would benefit the masses and improve the country’s economy. (NAN).
