Seasoned Traffic Officer Appointed to Lead Kwara's Road Management Agency

The Commissioner for Transportation, Hon. Lafia Aliyu Korasabi, has decorated the newly appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Kwara State Road Traffic Management Authority (KWARTMA), Mr. Abdullahi Suleiman Oba, yesterday in his office.
The Commissioner, who reaffirmed the State government’s commitment to enhancing quality traffic management systems, urged the new CEO to ensure the security and safety of the lives of road users in the State.
Hon. Lafia Aliyu Korasabi who emphasized Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s firm commitment to upholding standard ethics and professionalism at all levels in the State’s transportation system, charged the new KWARTMA Boss to lead his team with vision and the required innovative ideas that inspire productivity and efficiency.
“I urge you to lead with vision, integrity, and a comprehensive understanding of the transportation dynamics. Let your leadership inspire innovation, accountability, and excellence. We count on you to enhance traffic management systems and improve road safety in the State”, the Commissioner stated.
He further charged the new KWARTMA CEO on dedication and mutual synergy with all the relevant stakeholders to  improve the transportation sector and reflect the aspirations of the government as well as citizens.
In his goodwill message, the Kwara State Commissioner for Water Resources, Yunusa Lade who extolled the New CEO for his sterling track records as a traffic officer, congratulated him and expressed confidence in his capacity to lead KWARTMA.
Also speaking, the Permanent Secretary and the representative of the Kwara State Commissioner for Works, Alh. Abdullahi Muhammad Mao, praised the Governor for  appointing a full-fledged traffic officer as the CEO of KWARTMA, noting that such an  unprecedented appointment will motivate other staff of the Agency.
In his acceptance speech, the newly appointed Chief Executive Officer of KWARTMA, Mr. Suleiman Abdullahi Oba, pledged that his stewardship as the new boss for KWARTMA will align with Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s vision of a “New Kwara”, promising to move the Agency to greater heights.
Mr. Oba equally sought greater synergy among sister security agencies, relevant Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) as well as other transport unions, towards achieving a robust economic development, ensuring the safety of lives, and orderliness on Kwara roads.
He noted the importance of prioritizing safety in all the Agency’s operations to complement the good work of the current administration, under Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
The event had in attendance the Commissioner for Works, AbdulQuwiy Olododo, represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Alh. Abdullahi Mohammad Mao, Commissioner for Water Resources, Hon. Yunusa Lade, Senior Special Assistant to the Kwara State Governor on Transportation, Hon. Ibrahim Orire, Chairman of various transportation unions, and other key stakeholders in the transportation sector.
In their unanimous address, the Chairman of the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN), Alh. AbdulRahman Olayinka Onikijipa; Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Alh. Abdulrazaq Arowool, Chairman, Tricycles Owners Association of Nigeria (TOAN), Alh. Saliu Gidado; and Chairman, Association of Independent Transporters, (AIT), Alh. Abdulganiyu Omoola (KASMAG) pledged their continued support and cooperation to continue to abide by the traffic rules and regulations, while strengthening a harmonious relationship with the KWARTMA management and the State government in the interest of peace, prosperity, and progress for Kwara State.
The highlight of the occasion was the official handing over of the baton of office from the former Ag.CEO, Engr. Michael Bamidele to the new CEO, Mr. Abdullahi Suleiman Oba. (kwaramoc.com.ng).
