Nigeria, Global Stakeholders Partner to Boost Livestock Sector
Federal Government and international partners commit to reforms, collaboration, and trade opportunities to strengthen Nigeria’s livestock industry.

The Federal Government of Nigeria is collaborating with local and international stakeholders to enhance and promote the livestock sector across the country. These stakeholders met at a stakeholders engagement meeting in Abuja to discuss the upcoming trade fair, exhibition, and annual livestock development summit.
The meeting, organised by the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) in partnership with the Nigeria Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (NACCIMA), aimed to reinforce the livestock sector in Nigeria. Mr. Agabaidu Jideani, the Director General of ACCI, emphasized the importance of this initiative.
Jideani made known the efforts of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to boost the agricultural sector’s potential, including livestock production. He mentioned the inauguration of the presidential committee on implementation of livestock reform in 2024 and called for collaboration between stakeholders, the Federal Government, and its agencies to strengthen the agricultural sector across the country.
The agricultural sector is vital to Nigeria’s economy, significantly contributing to the country’s GDP and exports. Enhancing livestock production is a crucial step in boosting Nigeria’s GDP.
