FirstHoldCo emerges first Nigerian bank to hit N6trn market cap

Share price climbs to N136.50 as lender surpasses rivals as most valuable on NGX

FirstHoldCo Plc on Monday became the first Nigerian banking group to cross the N6 trillion market capitalisation mark, a historic milestone on the Nigerian Exchange Ltd. (NGX).

During intraday trading, the stock touched N136.50 per share, with approximately 45.48 billion shares outstanding, putting the company’s valuation at N6.21 trillion.

The feat makes FirstHoldCo the most valuable listed banking group in Nigeria, ahead of its peers on the exchange.

Analysts say the milestone reflects sustained investor confidence in the banking group, as well as broader gains across the financial services sector on the NGX in recent months.

The achievement is expected to further strengthen FirstHoldCo’s standing among institutional and retail investors, as the group consolidates its position at the top of Nigeria’s banking industry by market value.
