Kwara: Rore Community Seeks Support for Teachers’ Salaries

Community Appeals to Irepodun LGA Chairman for Assistance

Rore Community, Irepodun Local Government Area (LGA), Kwara, has appealed to the council chairman, Hon. AbdulAzeez Yakubu, to assist in paying the salaries of teachers employed through community initiatives.

The appeal was made on Tuesday when the Rore Development Association, led by its president, Rev. Joel Adeniran, visited the local government chairman to appreciate him for his laudable community projects.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the visitation was on behalf of His Royal Highness, the Onirore of Rore, Oba Ezekiel Oyewole.

Adeniran appreciated Yakubu for the recent renovation and furnishing of the traditional ruler’s palace, which he said would enhance the cultural heritage of the community.

He also commended the chairman for appointing a Rore indigene, Benjamin Ayansola, to his cabinet; a gesture highlighted to foster stronger ties between the local government and the community.

While expressing his gratitude, the association’s leader also conveyed additional requests, such as road infrastructure and provision of clean water, for further development.

In his response, Yakubu appreciated the delegation for the visit and the recognition accorded him by the community and the Onirore of Rore.

He said the acknowledgement would inspire him to continue to work tirelessly for the local government development.

The chairman assured the delegation that their requests had been duly noted and promised to address them accordingly.

He also announced his intention to visit the Rore community soon to further engage with residents and inspect ongoing projects.

The Speaker of the Irepodun LGA Legislative Council, Hon. Murtala Omogoye, praised the collaboration between the local government and the community.

“The visit underscored the importance of community-government partnerships and the positive impact of mutual appreciation and collaboration in driving local development initiatives,” he said. (NAN).
