July 25 for Sanitation Exercise

The Kwara State Government has announced that the monthly environmental sanitation exercise will take place on Saturday, July 25, 2026, across the state from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., according to information published on the Ministry of Environment’s official website.

The notice, issued by the Office of the Commissioner for Environment, Hajia Nafisat Musa Buge, urged residents to fully participate, noting that movement of vehicles and individuals will be restricted during the exercise.

The government stated that waste management trucks will be deployed for collection and proper disposal at approved dump sites, while security personnel and environmental officers will enforce compliance. Offenders will be apprehended and prosecuted.

Residents were also warned against indiscriminate dumping of refuse on roads, drainages, and other unauthorized locations, as this contravenes environmental laws.

The ministry encouraged citizens to take advantage of the exercise to clear bushes, clean their surroundings, and maintain a safe and healthy environment.
