Kwara NG-CARES Programme Exceeds Targets, Commended by Independent Assessors

Stiegler Services Ltd. praises the Kwara NG-CARES initiative for its positive impact on vulnerable groups.

Stiegler Services Ltd., a consultant firm, has commended the Kwara government for its COVID-19 Action Recovery Economic Stimulus (CARES) programme.

The firm said the programme exceeded its targets, contributing to the state’s socio-economic growth.

The Team lead of the Independent Verification Assessment (IVA) for KWARA NG-CARES, Stiegler Services Ltd., Mr Baba Ibrahim, gave the commendation on Friday in Ilorin, during the fourth round of the IVA.

He said the programme surpassed the target and the purpose reached the targeted beneficiaries.

Ibrahim commended the state’s compliance with the NG-CARES implementation protocol and the project’s achievements, particularly the Delivery Platform 1.4 implemented by the Kwara State Community and Social Development Agency.

The KWARA NG-CARES programme is a state-budgeted initiative that uses the Programme for Results model to deliver goods and services to the poor and vulnerable across the state’s 16 Local Government Areas.

Its primary objective is to provide support to the poor, vulnerable groups, people living with disabilities, and Small, Micro-Scale Enterprises to enhance their social and economic well-being.

Ibrahim assured the state that his team would ensure due diligence and professionalism in every aspect of the exercise.

He also acknowledged Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s passion for making life more bearable for the poor and vulnerable groups.

Ibrahim reiterated that the progress made by the State NG-CARES programme was a testament to the governor’s dedication to the welfare of his citizens.

Earlier, Mr Olatunde Ibiyinka, the State Coordinator of Kwara NG-CARES, explained that the programme was designed to provide relief to those affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

He said the Independent Verification Assessment was conducted to evaluate the performance and results of the State Delivery Platforms.

Ibiyinka appreciated the IVA team’s thorough assessment and assured that the state would maintain its momentum and strive to surpass its previous records.

He also sought the team’s support in identifying the beneficiaries of the programme, particularly those who received business grants, to ensure that the interventions were effective and reached the intended targets.
