Project Coordinator Emphasizes Benefits of Agro-Industrialization for Local Communities

The Kwara State Government has affirmed that the Kwara Agro-Industrial Processing Zones (SAPZ) Project was envisioned for industrializing the agrarian areas of the state for the benefit of all.
The Project Coordinator in the State, Dr. Isiaka Busari, made this affirmation on Thursday during a sensitization organized for community stakeholders in Afon, Asa Local Government Area of Kwara State.

According to Busari, agro-industrialization will attract investors, and this will spike the transformation of the agrarian locations and ensure the economic boom of the communities.
Busari, represented by the Project Infrastructure Engineer, Engr. Ezekiel Ariyo disclosed that the project focused on places that had comparative advantages in some products.
The project coordinator said that such areas of high agricultural production were suitable in the context of agro-industrial processing zones project.
He added that the SAPZ Project, coupled with many agricultural interventions by Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, would go a long way to enable farmers to fulfill their aspirations.
“Afon, as the seat of a local government, will host an Agricultural Transformation Center (ATC), just as Baruteen, Kaiama, and Ifelodun.
“One agro-industrial hub will be sited in Malete, in Moro Local Government Area of the state,” he said.
Also, Alhaji Sheu Amosa, Chairman of Asa Local Government Area, disclosed that the local government needed special attention due to its topography.
